What's happening?
Tri-City Community Development Corporation -- referencing Southwest Detroit, River Rouge and Ecorse -- broke ground on Eden Park in May 2022. The park is being constructed on the former site of the shuttered and razed Mark Twain Elementary in Detroit and is meant to serve residents of the three cities. The $2 million project is slated for completion in 2024 and will include botanical and vegetable gardens, walking paths, an amphitheater and a "park within a park" designed for Alzheimer's patients and caregivers.
