What's happening?
In 2018, Bedrock announced a partnership with a subsidiary of Detroit bankruptcy creditor Syncora Guarantee to redevelop the former Detroit Police Department headquarters at 1300 Beaubien in Greektown. Syncora had received the property as part of the city's bankruptcy settlement. In 2019, Bedrock said environmental remediation work was ongoing. It's unclear how the site will be used. The structure was designed by Albert Kahn and served as DPD headquarters from 1923-2013; it's been empty since.
