What's happening?
In early 2023, Henry Ford Health System, Michigan State University and Detroit Pistons owner Tom Gores announced an approximately $3 billion development in New Center with housing, a research facility, retail and parking. The Future of Health project includes Henry Ford’s $2.3 billion hospital expansion (which is not seeking tax incentives), Destination: Grand. Construction began in 2024 and is expected to be complete in 2029.
