The former Jefferson School next to the Lodge is becoming a 120,000-square-foot incubator space. Colorado-based Industry, a coworking and shared office space provider, has partnered with Invest Detroit and Midtown Detroit Inc. to rehab the three-story building, with a focus on small businesses seeking flexible rental space with amenities such as large kitchens and conference rooms. The project was initially expected to open in 2020.
