In January 2023, the City of Detroit announced renovations had begun on the Lee Arden Apartments in the Piety Hill neighborhood, a $5.42 million project undertaken in concert with renovations for the adjacent Kingsley Arms Apartments. Developer Hazelwood Partners LLC's combined $10.3 million redevelopment will include 87 new affordable housing units renting at 45%-80% of the area median income.
