What's happening?
The $125 million Music Hall expansion will erect a new seven-story complex, designed by Detroit-born architect Tod Williams, with a 2,000-seat performance venue, recital hall, music academy, rooftop club, welcome center and restaurant celebrating Detroit music history. In May 2024, Detroit City Council approved $80 million in nonprofit bonds issued by Detroit’s Economic Development Corporation. Construction was initially targeted to begin in summer 2024.
