Developer Julio Bateau of Nailah LLC is developing the Petit Bateau project on seven Midtown parcels bound by Frederick, Beaubien, St. Antoine and an alley south of Kirby St. The site will contain a 36-unit apartment building, 36-unit mixed-use building and 20 residential condominiums in four buildings. The site will also include commercial use, a parking lot and 20% affordable housing. Developers received brownfield and Neighborhood Enterprise Zone tax abatements from the city and state totaling more than $2.8 million for the nearly $31 million project, and said in June 2021 the project is slated to be completed in 2023.
