What's happening?

The Ruth Ellis Clairmount Center in Detroit's Piety Hill neighborhood is an extension of the Ruth Ellis Center for LGBTQ youth in Highland Park. It is being developed in partnership with Chicago-based Full Circle Communities and broke ground in 2020. The mixed-use project will create 43 units of permanent supportive housing for LGBTQ youth experiencing homelessness, as well as offer social services, health care and employment opportunities. The development is expected to be complete in 2022.
